About Terry Agnor

Terry Agnor was born in 1966 in Roanoke Virginia, the youngest of 3 children. From the beginning, Terry was a performer, always entertaining everyone he met with his wonderful sense of humor.

Terry was first inspired to sing by listening to a Robby Hiner record. Robby Hiner was from Lynchburg Virginia and sang at Thomas Road Baptist Church. At the age of 6, Terry would sing along with the Robby Hiner record while standing in front of a mirror. As the son of a Baptist minister, Terry frequently sang in church.

Then, as Terry got older, he started to sing at various churches. In his mid twenties, Terry moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he briefly sang at the Carolina Opry. He then got a manager and began to sing country music across South Carolina, North Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.

During a performance at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, an RCA employee heard Terry sing. Terry and his manager began to talk with RCA, working on a record deal. However, all discussions ceased when Terry suffered a stroke at the age of 28. Terry saw this health setback as a message from God that He had better plans for him. At that point, Terry knew the Lord was telling him that country music was not the music He wanted him to sing. The Lord had a better message for Terry to deliver. Terry knew the Lord was leading him to sing gospel music. Since then, Terry has made hundreds of appearances at churches, benefits and various community events. Terry averages about 150 performances a year.

Besides being an exceptionally talented vocalist, Terry is also a song writer. He wrote his first song, “He’ll See You Through” while in his mid twenties. Since then, Terry has written several songs including “On The Streets of Heaven”, “Sweet Relief”, “Blessed Promise Land”, and most recently, “He’s Always In Control” which is the title song for Terrry’s new CD.

Terry says he enjoys singing gospel music because it is his way of sharing Christ with others. Terry says: “My songs tell what Christ did for me, what he is going to do for me, and what he can and will do for others.” Terry’s sole desire is that lost souls may come to accept Christ through his music and his testimony.
